Amazon Review – 5 out of 5 Stars Do you hesitate to read fantasy? Maybe you’ve been reading the wrong books.
Reader, are you a fantasy fan? Perhaps if you say no, you haven’t sampled the uplifting fantasy that author Azalea Dabill describes, analyzes, and lists in this book. After all, there is plenty of fantasy writing out there that leaves a bad feeling in the pit of the stomach.
Learning to tell the difference between fantasy that uplifts and fantasy that does the opposite is the purpose of this book, which it executes in lyrical fashion–with excerpts from 70, count them 70 authors, including specific recommendations for even more than that. This book is clearly a labor of love. — Phyllis Wheeler, author of The Long Shadow, to be published in 2021

Wow! This book perfectly explains why fantasy is one of my first loves. I like the way the author breaks down what we fantasy readers experience when we read a Christ-centered fantasy book. It doesn’t have to be overtly Christian for us readers to see the Maker within the pages or for us to enjoy a good fantasy book. But we know their is a message of hope even if despair is abounding within the pages. I also like how she explained the hidden gems; it was interesting. Anyway, if you want to know why I love fantasy and what I experience as I read it, then you need to read Fantastic Journey.

Yet the ocean of fantasy is not without dangers. Wherever there is wealth, there is risk.
The soul of good fantasy adventure benefits us on three levels.
• The spiritual arena
• The wide world of ideas
• And the sphere we breathe in
Each story that draws the contrast of light battling darkness, that mirrors reality, that calls us to the adventure of truth, that reveals the joy of wonder, and the beauty of brave action – that story is a precious jewel won from the sea.
Dare to help your loved ones find the soul of imaginative fiction in the spiritual arena, the wide world of ideas, and the sphere we breathe in.
